DELAY IN GRANT OF OROP AS PROMISED BY GOVT.

THE FOLLOWING IS POSTED FOR THE BENEFIT OF INFORMATION OF ALL VETERAN BROTHERS:-
---------------------------------------------------------
Dear Veterans,

Regards. Most of our veterans brothers are eagerly asking about the cause of delay in granting OROP as announced by the Govt in the last Budget speech on 06-07-2009 by Finance Minister and then in Parliament on 13-07-2009, by none other than, Defence Minister and finally on Independence Day by Hon'ble Prime Minister. Veterans must note one thing that OROP as announced by Govt. ( which is in fact Improved Pension) is not ( R) not same as is being asked by certain organizations resorting to returning of medals, which no govt. so far has initiated to grant in spite of many tall promises in the past nor any govt. will ever dare to grant in near future because of certain complicacies involved in this exercise.

Now the delay being caused in granting improved pension, is due to the fact that with such protests the govt gets breather to delay their action without inviting any brickbats saying that such and such org. does not accept what is being planned to be given. This is a bad luck for the underprivileged veterans, who count for 96% of the total lot but get their due at the last after a great struggle. Those heading such organizations, in fact, do not want that underprivileged veteran should get any thing which would, temporarily, satisfy them fearing they might not attend their call to show the strength when they blow the whistle .

As such, grant of OROP by the govt. is being delayed. But be assured, we will get it soon.
